This shelter has a 33 bed women's shelter, an 85 bed men's shelter as well as a family unit. They are a 24-Hour Emergency Shelter and they provide a Literacy/Computer Training Program, Substance Abuse Counseling, HIV/AIDS program, Food, Clothing, Housing Assistance, Job Search assistance and Counseling, Life Skills Counseling, and Health Care advice.

HEALTHCARE AND LEGAL RESOURCES
Alameda County Health Care for the Homeless (HCH) is a federally funded health center program housed in the Alameda County Health Care Services Agency.
What They Do:
Primary Care Health Homes:
In partnership with Alameda Health System, Lifelong Medical Care and ROOTS Community Health, HCH offers comprehensive primary care health homes with integrated behavioral health at six primary care clinics throughout Alameda County: Alameda Health System’s Highland Wellness, Eastmont Wellness, Hayward Wellness, Newark Wellness, ROOTS and the Lifelong Trust Health Center in Oakland.
Urgent Care & Mobile Health:
HCH provides urgent care, brief social work assessments, and referrals to community resources while visiting shelters, meal programs, and other accessible locations in the community. Services are provided free of charge to people experiencing homelessness on a first-come-first-served basis. For schedule and locations, see our online calendar.
Same-day, urgent care appointments for persons experiencing homelessness are available at the Alameda Health System Same Day Clinic at Highland Hospital.
Street Medicine
Street-based health care services are provided by Oakland STOMP, of ROOTS Community Health, and South County Street Medicine by Tri-City Health Center and Abode.
Specialty Dental Care
Dental services are provided by La Clinica Dental, mobile dental care by Onsite Dental Foundation, and referrals made to Highland dental clinic.
Substance Use Services
Medication Assisted Treatment services are provided at HCH primary care clinics, and overdose prevention and substance abuse recovery outreach services are provided by East Bay Community Recovery Program.

Homeless Action Center
Founded in 1990, the Homeless Action Center (HAC) provides free legal assistance with a range of public benefits programs, including Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Medi-Cal, CalWorks, Cal-Fresh (food stamps) General Assistance (GA) and Cash Assistance Programs for Immigrants (CAPI). We also provide informal advice and referrals for non-benefits related legal issues.
